How reviews work

On brity, a review always comes from a real visit. Here is how we check that, what is published and how to report a review that is a problem.

A review comes from a real visit

Only a client whose appointment took place can leave a review. There is no other way to write one: no form open to everyone, no reviews imported or added by hand.

  • The appointment is marked as done when her professional scans it at the salon. The next day, the client receives a personal link by e-mail or WhatsApp.
  • Or, at the end of the visit, the professional shows her end-of-visit QR code: the client scans it, leaves her review, then signs in or creates her account.
  • Each link works once, for a single visit. The next-day link expires after 30 days, the end-of-visit QR code after one hour.

What is published

A review is published as soon as it is sent, whether it is positive or negative. brity does not filter reviews by rating.

One exception, to protect personal data: a review that contains an e-mail address, a phone number or a link is read through before it is published.

A review is only hidden if it is abusive, off-topic, unlawful, contains personal data or does not come from a real visit. Never because it is negative. The salon can reply to a review publicly; it cannot edit it.

What is shown

The client’s first name and the initial of her surname, the rating from 1 to 5, her text, the date, the treatment and, if there is one, the salon’s reply. Never her full name, e-mail or phone number.

A place’s average rating is the average of all its published reviews. Google reviews, when they are shown on a salon’s page, stay separate and do not count in that average.

Reporting a review

Does a review look unlawful, false, abusive or a breach of privacy? Use the “Report” link under the review. No account is needed.

Each report is examined by the brity team, who decide and write down the reason for their decision. If the report is upheld, the review is hidden. If you left an e-mail address, we write to you with the decision and its reason.
